About the show

This performance introduces the exquisite music of the traditional performing arts of noh and kabuki, part of Japan’s intangible cultural heritage and still regularly performed today. Led by performer and drummer Tanaka Denjiro VII, from the famous Japanese musical dynasty, the musicians of the Kabuki Theatre offer a fascinating presentation of their instruments – performing highlights of classic compositions in a session designed to bring the diverse and multifaceted quality of Japanese culture to Edinburgh audiences.
