About the show

American gospel music has a rich and varied history, beginning with its deep roots in African-American spirituals and Appalachian folk music and reaching into the 20th-century era of radio, television and beyond. Today, it continues to uplift, inspire and remind us that we are all but pilgrims passing through this life. This enlightening and soul-stirring performance features members of the Wallace State Community College Fine and Performing Arts Department in Hanceville, Alabama. Come and be moved by the spirit as we tell this story through song, spoken word and dance!
